Paddy power poker has launched its improved C*A*S*H VIP programme giving players the ability to claim multiple cash bonuses each month from the lowest to the highest VIP levels.

Paddy has introduced a more flexible VIP system which allows you to exchange paddy points for the cash bonus or tournament token of your choice.

The bonuses on offer from paddy are now bigger than ever, high volume players can earn up to $100,000 in bonuses if they have enough paddy points! The great thing is that players are under no pressure to claim one bonus before another; this gives you freedom to wait until you’ve earned enough points until you can claim your preferred bonus.

“Our players demanded a more flexible system and we are more than happy to deliver” said Paddy Power, Communications Manager for paddypowerpoker.com. “Players can claim cash bonuses whenever they want and can snag multiple bonuses per month. It’s a great time to be part of the CAS*H Army!”

Paddy is making it even easier for you by automatically enrolling you into the scheme at Private level as soon as you open a real money account. You can then move up the ranks to Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Colonel and General levels according to how many paddy points you have earned throughout the previous month.

So go on and take advantage of Paddy’s great VIP offering!

Party Gaming has announced that they have signed a deal with WPT Enterprises Inc. The sale total $12.3million plus a minimum aggregate payment of $3million during the next three years due to an ongoing revenue share contract.

The sale includes the rights to the World Poker Tour brand and the rights to land based events in the USA and Europe and the intellectual rights to the World Poker Tour.

Also, the sale includes a library of more than 150 hours of poker programmes which is broadcast across the world in 150 countries.

Additionally, the sale includes the rights to the clubWPT subscription poker offering which caters for 16,500 subscribers in 37 US States.

Jim Ryan, PartyGaming Chief Executive Officer, said of the deal, “This deal brings together two of the biggest brands in online and offline poker – Party Poker and World Poker Tour – that we will market internationally to build our poker business. Our plans also include using the ClubWPT subscription platform to leverage our 12 million-strong US player database via a Party-branded website and the launch of a European WPT-branded poker and casino site. We are excited about the opportunities that WPT, a proven marketing channel for the Group, will create for PartyGaming, particularly if the US regulates and licenses online gaming.”

Steve Lipscomb, the founder of WPTE, further said that, “PartyGaming has been an important partner for a number of years and we are confident that they will be an excellent manager of our brands in the future. Combining two of the pioneers and leaders in the poker and online gaming markets will create a strong vehicle for the WPT brand to continue its global expansion.”

A Mansion Poker player only known as Rum 231 last week won $200,000 whilst playing online poker earning him a huge cash prize after a 12 hour tournament.

RUM231 is a regular online poker player and came across the opportunity of a lifetime and grabbed it! When asked about the tournament he said, “I am so excited to have been part of the tournament. I played for 12 hours and finally came out on top on Monday morning. I felt like I had the final table under control since I understood how the other players were playing. At the same time I was fortunate enough to win some key hands where it was just a 50/50 chance. The final hand I was dealt was a pocket queens. There were two fives on the flop and a queen. Luckily for me my opponent had a five so we were both all in. That’s when I won the pot and the tournament. What a great feeling”!

The skills needed to play online poker are certainly different to the live game. For example when playing online you can play many tables at one time, making quick decisions an integral part of winning any game. To be a good online player you do not need to employ a ‘poker face’ as the game really is pure chance. However expert players claim that they can learn to read their opponents by their response time.

Timothy Green, a witness of the game said that the game in which RUM231 won was witty and aggressively played. “You could see how he continued to learn each table and each player, slowly taking control and grabbing the opportunity to win when it came around”.

Over two days, poker in the park took over Leicester square for the annual poker spectacle.

Over 15,000 attended the two day event with over 300 people queuing to get inside at the start!

Michael Casselli, the editor and chief of Bluff magazine Europe not to mention the organizer of the entire event spoke of the event and how it has changed from past events and what he expects from the future.

He said that 2009 was the event’s best year so far and that Leicester square was an obvious choice for the location of the event, proclaiming the spot as, ‘centre of the universe!’ He continued that Leicester square was the perfect location to attract city boys that like a flutter as a leisure activity after work, in addition to an accessible location for other people too.

When speaking of past events he said that this year there are six more booths, attendances have overwhelmingly risen, they have given out 3,000 Bluff Europe magazines and most importantly raised over £17,000 for the Jamie Gold foundation.

Casselli hopes to get more online casinos involved next year which shouldn’t be a problem as this event is definitely the place to be and be seen in the poker world!

Monday saw the announcement of the new owner of the World Poker Tour. The owners take the form of Cypriot, Gamynia Ltd, an investment company. The announcement puts to bed recent take over rumours of WPT enterprises Inc.

The company will take over for the price of $9.07million, the professional poker tour and the world poker tour brand. Under the new ownership, television, distribution, sponsoring and licensing will continue.

Gamynia is hoping to leverage those brands by partnering with Hardway investments Ltd and entering the online gambling market. Hardway are already experienced in this area as they own Euro Partners, an affiliate site for Playtech licensees.

The interim CEO of WPT Enterprises, Thomas J. Flahie, said of the deal, “There’s not a whole lot of information because it’s a newly established, privately held investment group – very, very large – so I’m not sure if they plan on making any further comment. We don’t plan on putting much more information in the proxy than what’s already been disclosed”

However, WPTE’s share price dropped dramatically following the news. This leaves WPTE hovering slightly above the Nasdaq $1 Price minimum after seeing a drop of 27%.

The sale is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter. After the sale’s completion the WPTE CEO, Steve Lipscomb, who has a 5% share in the gross proceeds of any sale of the business will secure himself a $450,000 payout.

Luvinpoker.com’s founder, Jennifer Winter, has had an eventful life so far beginning on the red carpets aged 14 with Dance Party USA, going on to interview the likes of Michael Jackson. By 18 years of age she began her own TV show as an assistant to Tony Danza before looking after the accounts and production of music videos, in addition to live events. After this she became a staffer in the hit show Beverly Hills.

The family orientated girl next moved off to Las Vegas to build a new life in the gambling capital of the world. Although life didn’t come as easy for the Californian sweetheart as unless she became involved in poker she would struggle to continue her success.

Jennifer was first taught the basics from high stake player Mori Eskandi, but was fully staffed so referred her to chief editor of pokernews.com John Caldwell. She was hired to handle the WSOP finances in 2007.

After getting a taste for life in the poker industry Jennifer has now launched an online poker community gaining 2,500 members, 40% of them being females and aims to bring together poker players from all over the world, to make friends and even spark a little romance!

The community has a variety of great features including over 400 games, blogs, profiles and photo galleries for poker fans to enjoy.

Jennifer, rather cheekily, has requested for more men to join the site as they can teach the women a thing or two about poker!
